Police Report: Police Investigate Vandalism Complaints in Scio Township

The following information was supplied by the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Vandalism

  • Deputies with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department are investigating a report of vandalism that occurred in the 3000 block of Park Road in Scio Township on Jan. 24. According to police records, deputies discovered "malicious damage" to a roadside mailbox. No suspect information is available and the case remains under investigation.

  • Deputies are also investigating a vandalism complaint that occurred to a lawn in the 600 block of Dornoch Drive in Scio Township on Jan. 24. According to police, the owner called police after discovering tire tracks in the front lawn. The tracks caused significant damage to the turf. Investigators believe the incident occurred during the night. No suspect information is available.

  • Deputies are investigating a vandalism complaint to a motor vehicle that took place on Jan. 22. According to police reports, the vehicle was parked in a public lot in the 6200 block of Jackson Road. While the vehicle was parked, unknown suspects tampered with the driver’s side door, causing damage. Investigators believe the suspect was attempting to force entry to the car. No property was reported stolen. The incident is under investigation.
  • Larceny

    • Deputies with the Washtenaw County Sheriff are investigating the report of theft from a gym locker on Jan. 24. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Aprill Drive in Scio Township. According to police reports, the victim told investigators that their watch was locked in a gym locker and was removed when the victim was working out. No suspect information is available.

  • Deputies are also investigating the theft of firearms taken from a property on the 8200 block of Scio Church Road in Scio Township on Jan. 23. Investigators believe the incident took place sometime during the last four days. No further information was available at the time of this posting.
