Police Report: Vandals Strike Vehicles in Scio Township

Vandalism

  • Deputies assigned to Scio Township were called to the parking lot of Belmark Lanes bowling alley, 3530 Jackson Rd., in response to a complaint of vandalism to a parked car on Wednesday. The car owner told deputies that he had been involved in a verbal altercation with another patron. According to police, after an argument, the suspect smashed the windshield of the victim’s vehicle. No physical assaults were reported. The case is under investigation.
  • On Sunday, deputies assigned to Scio Township were dispatched to the 500 block of Apricot Lane in response to a vandalism complaint. According to police, the victim told deputies that someone placed sharp objects under the tires of the victim's parked car. The tires were damaged. No further details were available at the time of this posting. The case is under investigation.

Larceny

On July 16, deputies assigned to Scio Township were called to the Polo Fields Golf Course, 5200 Polo Fields Dr., in response to a complaint of stolen golf flags. According to police, golf club managers informed deputies they discovered marker flags missing from 17 of the course’s 18 holes. The flags were discovered missing when the course prepared to open in the morning. The case is under investigation.

Driving Under the Influence

On Sunday, deputies patrolling Scio Township arrested a motorist suspected of drunken driver in the area of Baker Road and I-94 after noticing the car driving erratically. According to police, deputies made contact with the driver near the . Deputies said that after attempting to speak to the motorist, they determined the individual was intoxicated. No further details were available at the time of this posting.
