The Dexter Fire Department and Huron Valley Ambulance paramedics rescued the men from the roof of a nearby building. Dexter Fire Chief Loren Yates believes the force from the explosion ejected one of the men onto the roof of the building, while workers helped the other man out of the tank.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, but Yates says the department believes methane gas was ignited when the men lit a torch to cut a peice of metal.
