Two Riders Injured in Motorcycle Accident

Carlo Sgambelluri and Judith Cornell were transported to the University of Michigan Hospital for injuries after losing control of their motorcycle on Sunday in Scio Township.

Two people were injured during a motorcycle accident in Scio Township on May 5, according to a report from the Michigan State Police.

Police say Carlo Sgambelluri, 70, of Bronson was driving a 2008 Victory motorcycle when he lost control while changing lanes. Police say Sgambelluri crossed the fog line and drove over the warning rumble strips and then onto the gravel shoulder.

Both Sgambelluri and the passenger, 65-year-old Judith Cornell of Marshall, were thrown from the motorcycle and landed on the roadway, according to the report.

Police say both riders were wearing helmets and alcohol was not a factor.

Sgambelluri and Cornell were transported to the University of Michigan Hospital by Huron Valley Ambulance, according to the report.

Troopers were assisted at the crash scene by Huron Valley Ambulance and Scio Township Fire Department.
