Washtenaw County Sheriff Deputies Seek Suspects in Home Burglary

Residents are urged to protect property from criminal activity.

Deputies with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department are urging residents to remain vigilant for suspicious persons following a home burglary that occurred in Lima Township this week.

According to Derrick Jackson, community engagement officer, the burglary occurred in the 2600 block of N. Parker Road Monday afternoon while the home was unoccuppied. No information on items taken from the residence was available, he said.

"Burglars are opportunisitic and look for the easiest way in and out. The more you can secure your property the less likely you are to have your home broken into," Jackson said.

Deputies will provide a written report identifying where homeowners are most vulnerable and provide suggestions on how to fix them.
