Washtenaw County Sheriff's Deputies Investigate Home Burglaries Near Dexter

The following information was supplied by the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office is investigating a home burglary near the 7000 block of Ulrich Drive in the village of Dexter. According to police reports, on Jan. 15 an unknown suspect or suspects entered the home through an unlocked basement window between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Deputies said video game consoles and several video games were stolen. The investigation is ongoing.

On Jan. 19 at approximately 9:30 a.m., a female resident called 911 to inform police that she heard someone enter her basement, near the 3000 block of Bristol Road. According to police reports, deputies arrived on scene, checked the interior and exterior of the residence and did not find any suspicious activity.

Credit card fraud

On Jan. 15, deputies with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a home near the 9000 block of Huntley Drive in the village of Dexter in response to a credit card fraud complaint. According to police records, the card owner discovered an unknown charge on her credit card in September 2012. Police said the credit card company shipped the merchandise to an address in Cincinnati, Ohio to a man named James. Charges for the victim have been reversed.

Lost property

On Jan. 14, deputies with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office were contacted after a woman misplaced her wallet containing money and ID at the Dexter Mill. According to police reports, the woman reported the missing items. Sgt. Keith Flores said as of Jan. 25, there has been no fruadulant activity on any of the woman's accounts.
