Webster Twp. Man's Credit Card Used to Purchase iPads

The following information was supplied by the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

On Feb. 28, a Webster Township resident in the 7000 block of Quail Ridge contacted the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office to report an unauthorized purchase on his credit card.

According to police records, the resident told deputies that Verizon Wireless charged his card for the purchase of six iPads to ship to New York. Verizon credited the card owner's account. The case has been turned over to the company's office in New York.

On March 1, deputies with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 6000 block of Wellington Street in the village of Dexter for a fraud complaint.

According to police records, a credit card owner noticed two charges totalling roughly $1,000 on her credit card statement. Deputies tracked the items to a purchase from Newegg online. The credit card company reimbursed the victim with the funds. According to Sgt. Keith Flores, deputies are in the process of locating where the merchandise was delivered.

Disorderly Person

On Feb. 27, deputies with the Washtenaw County Sheriff were dispatched to the 2000 block of Melbourne Street in the village of Dexter for a disorderly person complaint. According to police reports, around 8:30 p.m., a 40-year-old man showed up at his ex-girlfriend's house and was banging on the door yelling for her to let him inside. The man left prior to the deputies' arrival.
