Woman Injured in Accident at Jenny's Farm Market Near Dexter

Dexter Fire Department officials confirm a woman was trampled while working at Jenny's Farm on Saturday.

Officials with the Dexter Area Fire Authority are reporting a 23-year-old woman was seriously injured in a hayride accident Saturday afternoon at outside of Dexter.

Lt. Michael Grissom said the woman either fell off a hay wagon and was run over by it or was trampled by a horse while leading the wagon.

"We're not really sure how it happend," he said.

Grisson said when firefighters arrived around 2 p.m., the woman was lying injured in the field. He said the woman was conscious and alert and was flown by helicopter to the University of Michigan Hospital for treatment.

"When we arrived, she was laying near the cornfield complaining of pain all over. We quickly conducted an assessment and called for Survival Flight," he said. "She was very calm the entire time."

Grissom said another woman was transported by ambulance to the hospital as well.

No other injuries were reported. Grissom said the original 911 dispatch suggested two to three young children were trampled by a horse, which he said was not the case.
