Dexter Arts, Culture and Heritage Committee Extends Deadline for Public Art Applicants

Artists can submit applications to the Village of Dexter for consideration through May 1.

The application deadline for the Village of Dexter's first sculpture display has been extended through May 1.

Five temporary locations in the community have been selected as locations for the displays, including Mill Creek Park, the Jeffords and Main Street plaza, , downtown Main Street near , and Alpine Street near the Dexter Farmers Market.

According to Courtney Nicholls, assistant village manager, once all applications have been submitted, a nine-person panel consisting of representatives from the Planning Commission, Downtown Development Authority, Parks and Recreation Department, Arts, Culture and Heritage committee, and the general public will review the submitted artwork. The village council will determine what art pieces to display by way of a vote during a future council meeting.
