Dexter Planning Commission to Hold Public Meeting on Master Plan Update

Dexter residents are encouraged to give feedback on the document's revisions on Dec. 5.

The Dexter Village Planning Commission will hold a public workshop to solicit feedback from residents on the village's draft master plan update on Dec. 5.

Matt Kowalski, chairman of the commission, said the village is required by law to update its master plan every five years to reflect its changing goals and policies for future land use.

"The master plan went through a pretty comprehensive upgrade, but there was no substantial changes to the overall document," Kowalski said. "We mostly condensed sections and revised wording in certain sections."

Kowalski said the commission has been working on the updated master plan since March.

The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Upon approval from the commission, the revised master plan will be sent to the Dexter Village Council for a final vote.

In other action: The Planning Commission will discuss its capital improvement plan for projects in 2012-2017 at its next meeting on Dec. 5.
