Gov. Nikki Haley Will Visit With Mitt Romney Supporters in Ann Arbor on Tuesday

The South Carolina governor will be on hand to help open Romney's Ann Arbor campaign office.

In a move that's sure to re-fuel vice-presidential speculation, South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley will visit Michigan on Tuesday to drum up support for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

Haley endorsed Romney prior to the South Carolina primary in June, and  at the Ann Arbor campaign office located at 4695 Washtenaw Ave. beginning at 11 a.m. The governor will then travel to Lansing for a business roundtable discussion and the opening of Romney's Michigan campaign headquarters. Her day will conclude with a fundraiser in Detroit.

Recent polls show Romney trailing Pres. Obama in Michigan, but the difference is within the margin of error. As is the case in many swing states, the economy is the key issue. Romney has long ties to the state, as his father George was governor from 1963-69.
