State Board of Education Hosts Community Forum with Dexter, Chelsea Families

Board President John Austin will discuss current education issues, and education reforms in Michigan on March 11.

The State Board of Education will host several community public forums this winter and spring in order to facilitate public engagement and discussion of current education issues, education reforms, financing proposals, and potential legislation.

State Board President John Austin said he and his colleagues are eager to encourage broad community, educator, and stakeholder participation in these important discussions around education policy and direction for the state.

On March 11, Austin and fellow SBE member Eileen Weiser will meet with families from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor. The event is hosted by the Washtenaw Alliance for Education.
