Here's What You Need to Know Before Heading Out to Vote in Dexter

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 7 for the special election. Dexter voters can see their ballots and find their voting location before they hit the polls.

May 7 is Election Day in Dexter.

A copy of the ballot language for the Special Election is provided on the village of Dexter's website. Dexter voters will be voting on Dexter Village Referendum of Incorporation process and two school proposals.

Your precinct may have changed due to redistricting. Look up your address on this map

Update: For anyone not in Precinct 1, but still voting in the Dexter Community Schools election, the polling place is at Scio Township Hall only. If any voter has a question, they can check their voter information on the SOS website or the Scio Township website... or call the Township.

Village of Dexter

  • Residents in the village of Dexter are part of Scio Township's Precinct 1. The polling location is the Dexter Senior Center, 7720 Ann Arbor St.
  • Residents living in the Westridge Subdivision vote in Precinct 3 at the Webster Township Hall, 5665 Webster Church Rd.

Dexter Township

  • Precincts 1 and 3 vote at the Dexter Township Hall, 6880 Dexter-Pinckney Road.
  • Precinct 2 votes at the Multi-Lake Sewer Authority, 12088 N. Territorial Road.

Scio Township

  • Precinct 1 votes at the Dexter Senior Center, 7720 Ann Arbor St.
  • Precincts 2 and 3 vote at the Scio Township Hall, 827 N. Zeeb Rd.
  • Precinct 4 votes at the Scio Community Church, 1293 N. Zeeb Rd.
  • Precinct 5 votes at Scio Farms Clubhouse, 6655 Jackson Rd.
  • Precinct 6 votes at the Scio Fire Hall, 1055 N. Zeeb Rd.
  • Precinct 7 votes at the Washtenaw Intermediate School District, 1819 Wagner Rd.
  • Precinct 8 votes at the Scio Community Church, 1293 N. Zeeb Rd.
  • Precinct 9 votes at the Polo Fields Clubhouse, 5200 Polo Fields Drive.

Bring Photo ID

Michigan voters are required to show photo ID, either a driver's license or state issued ID, at the polls. If you forget, or do not have an acceptable form of ID, you can still vote, but must sign a brief affidavit stating that you're not in possession of a photo ID.

Other forms of ID that will be accepted include:

  • Driver's license or personal identification card issued by another state
  • Federal or state government-issued photo identification
  • U.S. passport
  • Military identification card with photo
  • Student identification with photo, from a high school or an accredited institution of higher education
  • Tribal identification card with photo
