Dexter Drama Students Venture 'Into the Woods' for Upcoming Winter Musical

The high school winter musical opens on Feb. 1 at the Dexter Center for Performing Arts.

The Dexter High School Drama Club will present the musical production Into The Woods, written by James Lapine with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Feb. 1-9.

The production will be held in the Center for Performing Arts at DHS, 2200 North Parker Road.

This production is a unique tale about an innocent baker and his wife, upon whom a witch has cursed with a childless life. In order for the curse to be lifted, the baker and his wife embark on an adventure to gather special items the witch has demanded. But in this tale, a happy ending is just the beginning.

Audiences will join the DHS cast on their journey as they meet some of the fairy tale world's most astonishing characters, such as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, and Rapunzel.

Tickets are $8 for students and senior citizens, and $10 for adults. Performances are Feb. 1-2, and Feb. 8-9 at 7 p.m., with an afternoon matinee at 2 p.m. Feb. 3.
