Dexter High School Opens International Baccalaureate Program to School of Choice

Dexter High School will accept limited School of Choice students for the International Baccalaureate full Diploma Programme, according to school officials.

The Dexter Community Schools will accept up to five 11th grade students who plan to be International Baccalaureate Diploma candidates in the 2013-14 school year, up to five 10th grade students who plan to be International Baccalaureate Diploma candidates in the 2014-15 school year and up to five 9th grade students who plan to be International Baccalaureate Diploma candidates in the 2015-16 school year.

To be eligible, students must be in good standing and on target to graduate with their class. They must intend to become International Baccalaureate Diploma Candidates in the appropriate year as stated above and live in a Washtenaw ISD school district or a school district within a different ISD, which borders on the Washtenaw Intermediate School District.

Students who enroll in this School of Choice Option will be required to enroll in and successfully complete courses in their International Baccalaureate and pre-International Baccalaureate course schedule making progress toward the requirements of the full Diploma Programme.

Applications for School of Choice will be accepted starting Monday, August 5 and must be received by 4 p.m. Friday, August 23 at 7714 Ann Arbor Street, Dexter. The application is available on the district website. A copy of the student's current transcript is required along with the most recent report card.
