Dexter Parents Organize Special Education Advocates Group

The group will meet at 7 p.m. on Jan. 29 at Aubree's Pizzeria to advocate for the needs of children with special education needs.

A group of parent advocates in the Dexter area are organizing a meetup at Aubree's Pizzeria & Grill on Jan. 29.

According to information provided by Dexter resident Laura Jones, the group is open to parents who would like to meet, discuss, support and advocate for children with special education needs in the local community.

The group was developed after several parents voiced concerns on Patch.com about administration officials at Dexter Community Schools allegedly unwilling to address ongoing issues of bullying against students enrolled in the district's special education program.
