Dexter Superintendent Honored for 19 Years of Service to School District

Mary Marshall will leave Dexter at the end of December to pursue a job as superintendent in Pentwater, Mich.

The Dexter Community Schools Board of Education recognized Superintendent Mary Marshall for her service to the school district Monday during a brief presentation.

Marshall, who will leave the district after 19 years ., served as a high school teacher, assistant principal at Dexter High School, sixth grade teacher, Creekside Intermediate principal, assistant superintendent, and superintendent at Dexter Schools.

The board presented Marshall with a plaque and proclamation for her years of employment in Dexter.

"This is in appreciation of (Mary Marshall's) tireless efforts on behalf of Dexter students and staff," president Larry Cobler said. "Those that were here during the tornado know that Mary was not only tireless in her efforts for the students, but also for the community."
