The Educational Foundation of Dexter (EFD) will host its annual gala auction on Feb. 23 at the Ann Arbor Country Club.
The evening will feature a strolling supper, cocktails and desserts provided by Max & Bella’s on the Green located inside the Ann Arbor Country Club, as well as live music and a silent and live auction.
"This event is always a lot of fun and a great success,” said Jennifer Wagner, co-chairwoman of the auction. ”We are overwhelmed with the generosity of our local businesses and families as they continue to join us to provide essential financial support for innovative programs that provide fantastic educational opportunities for our students.”
Live auction items include orthodontic services from Dexter Orthodontics, a Alaska cruise for two from AAA Travel, two Weekend on Wheels packages from Lafontaine Motors, an in-home dinner for eight courtesy of Zingerman's Roadhouse and Chef Alex Young, and a full annual membership from Ann Arbor Country Club.
The EFD will once again hold an exciting jewlery raffle at the auction. Attendees can enter the raffle by purchasing one of 50 glasses of a specialty cocktail available at the event. Each glass will hold one pair of faux diamond earrings, and one lucky purchaser will win diamond jewelry courtesy of Lewis Jewelers of Ann Arbor.
In addition, raffle tickets are available for $10 per ticket, or three for $20. Prizes include a Nikon D3200 digital SLR camera along with camera bag and 1 hour photography lesson courtesy of Huron Camera of Dexter; a maize and blue lap quilt courtesy of the Dexter Quintessential Quilters; and $100 cash.
Raffle tickets may be purchased from EFD trustees, the Ann Arbor Country Club, local United Bank and Trust locations at 7200 Dexter-Ann Arbor Road and 355 S. Zeeb Road, or Dexter Orthodontics. The raffle drawing will be held during the auction, and winners do not need to be present to win.
All funds raised will support grants for Dexter teachers to help fund school programs. In 2012, the Educational Foundation of Dexter funded over $37,000 for a broad range of student programs and teacher training across the school district.
