Taylor Neely Receives Detroit Free Press 2012 Scholar Athlete Award

The Dexter High School graduate will attend Dartmouth College in the fall.

The Detroit Free Press recently released the names of 450 students across Michigan who received the newspaper's annual Michigan High School Scholar Athlete Award.

The award recognizes high school seniors who have struck a perfect balance between high academic and athletic achievement.

Taylor Neely of Dexter was recognized for his 4.0 GPA. His academic achievements include: National Council of Teach of English Achievement Writing Award Finalist, National Honor Society, Academic All-State.

Taylor's athletic achievements include: Track and field: All-region, all-SEC, team captain, team most valuable player. Cross country: All-state, all-region, all-SEC, team captain, team most valuable player.
