Coming off of a big weekend that saw Dexter against three Division 1 opponents, the Dreadnaughts could not carry the momentum against Ann Arbor on Tuesday.
The River Rats jumped all over Dexter in the first half with an attacking one and two touch passing that proved difficult for Dexter. Only eight minutes into the game, the River Rats took a free kick from about 30 yards out that was sent over the wall for their first goal. Exactly three minutes later, Huron scored their second point against Dexter followed by a penalty-kick against Dexter’s defender.
With 16:25 left in the half, the River Rats scored their final goal of the game to set the final score.
Dexter came out in the second half ready to rebound, but still could not mount an adequate offense.
The Dreadnaughts fell to 7-3-1 and 1-1-0 in SEC play. Dexter will host SEC opponent Bedford for a 5:30 kick-off today.
