Dexter Girls Basketball Topples Saginaw Heritage in Quarterfinals

The varsity girls basketball team advances to the Class A state semifinals on Friday at the Breslin Center.

Dexter High School's varsity girls basketball team did it.

The Dreadnaughts defeated Saginaw Heritage 34-33 in the Class A quarterfinal Tuesday at Davison to advance to the Class A state semifinals.

Dexter will take on Grosse Pointe South on Friday at 2:50 p.m. at the Breslin Center in East Lansing. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased online at breslincenter.com. The game will also be broadcast live online on mhsaa.tv.

Dexter will be going into the game with a 23-3 overall record, while Grosse Pointe South has a record of 24-1 overall.

If they win, the Dreadnaughts will move on to play the winner of the Westland John Glenn vs. Grand Haven game, which is also on Friday. The state championship game is scheduled for Saturday at noon at the Breslin Center.
