Rec 101: Intro to Hayes State Park
There's a lot more to state parks than just camping, and we're hoping you come out to find out everything you always wanted to know about state parks but were afraid to ask!
- How many acres are there?
- Where are dogs allowed?
- Is there really geocaches in the park?
- Is the park open 24 hours a day?
- Where can I find out what’s happening at the park?
- Do I need a fishing license?
- How does that new Recreation Passport thing work?
SPECIAL ST. PADDY’S DAY EVENT: Join us to search for the Leprechaun’s Pots ‘o Gold! Rumor is he’s been pretty busy around the park hiding them amongst our Irish Hills! Light refreshments - green, of course - will be provided.
No registration required. Just show up! The Rec 101: Intro to Hayes State Park is FREE, however a Recreation Passport is required for vehicles entering the park. The Recreation Passport has replaced motor vehicle permits for entry into Michigan state parks and is available when renewing your license tabs at the Secretary of State or any park office.
