This casual, easy, fun hour of hiking is for young, old, and everyone in between. No fancy clothes or gear required, just a desire to get out for a little bit on New Year’s Day and enjoy some fresh air and activity. Two $50 Running Fit gift cards will be randomly given out to a couple lucky attendees.Stick around after the walk for a bonfire and snacks.
Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather as you will be outside for the duration. Event is held rain or shine, and no pre-registration is required.
Things to Bring: Roasting stick, water bottle, binoculars, camera, and an outdoor or nature story to share around the fire. And especially bring your family & friends to hike with you!

It is FREE to attend the Shoe Year’s Day Hike, however a Recreation Passport is required for vehicles entering any Michigan State Park. The Recreation Passport has replaced motor vehicle permits for entry into Michigan State Parks and is available at any park office or when renewing your license tabs at the Secretary of State.
