Hudson Mills Golf Course in Dexter Reopens April 6

The front nine holes will be open, with the back nine closed due to downed trees.

golf course in Dexter Township is scheduled to reopen on April 6, 21 days after a tornado ripped through the area and damaged the course.

The front nine holes will be open, with the back nine closed due to downed trees. In order to reopen the course, more than 150 downed trees were removed from the course. Crews from several metroparks worked on the cleanup and repair effort, which included picking up thousands of sticks and twigs, repairing turf and other duties, along with routine golf course maintenance. Final cleanup efforts are planned next week before the course opens.

“The turf is in really good shape, thanks to the warm spring,” said Jerry Cyr, park operations manager for Hudson Mills Metropark. “I think the golfers will be amazed at how well the course weathered the impact of Mother Nature.”
