National Ice Cream Day: A Dexter Treat

National Ice Cream Day fast approaches. Enjoy a Dexter treat.

Have fun, eat well and help the dairy industry by consuming enormous amounts of ice cream on National Ice Cream Day, July 17.

As a matter of fact, fun and scrumptiousness, start early.

Whether you favor ice cream, Dairy Queen, gelato or some other form of dairy sweet, it should be eaten often without forethought or prejudice throughout the year.

You can make due with local Dexter products. Get one chocolate cake donut from the Dexter Bakery- with or without icing. Slice in half horizontally. Place one slab or several scoops of vanilla ice cream on the bottom. Top the ice cream with a condiment such as chocolate chips or butterscotch chips. Put the top of the donut on and eat.

Or, for a further death-defying act, put one of many Sanders’ sauces on top. Place the ice cream creation in a bowl and enjoy.

As on many festive occasions the “no calorie” rule is in effect during the weeks leading up to National Ice Cream Day.
