Help Dexter Band Boosters Win Chase Community Giving Competition

The local nonprofit is competing nationally for a chance at $5 million from JP Morgan Chase.

The Dexter Band Boosters have the chance to share a pot of $5 million in grants through the Chase Community Giving Program.

The boosters are one of thousands of organizations across the country in the running to benefit from the donation program. The number of votes an organization receives determines the amount that will be awarded.

Voting can be done in two ways. Chase customers can vote online at www.chasegiving.com and Facebook users can vote by visiting the Chase Community Giving Facebook page at www.facebook.com/chasecommunitygiving. Voting ends Sept. 19.

The top 196 charities with the most votes will split the $5 million.

The band boosters offer financial support to music programs in grades 5-12 at Dexter Community Schools. The boosters also help fund musical performances, competitive festivals, music education scholarships and other musical experiences for students in Dexter.

They are roughly 750 votes out of 196th place with 2 days left, but if everyone who has a Facebook or Chase account and lives in the communities served by Dexter Community Schools votes they'll more than make up that ground. So please vote and help this group that does so much for our kids...and share your vote with your friends on Facebook and encourage them to vote too.
