Free Ice Cream for Dexter Library Members, Plus More Tips for the Week Ahead

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your week in Dexter.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Dexter to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Family fun

Nothing says summer quite like ice cream, and members of the Dexter District Library can show their library cards at the Dexter Farmer's Market Wednesday at 11 a.m. to get a free ice cream cone or cup from Coffee House Creamery in Ann Arbor.

2. Don't miss outThe "almost famous" flea market at St. Joseph Catholic Church starts Thursday at 9 a.m. at the Village Church Parish Center, located at 3430 Dover. The market boast ample parking and an air conditioned shopping area. Items include furniture, baby gear, books, athletic and camping gear and more. It runs through Saturday.

3. At the library

Wear your pajamas to the Dexter District Library, 3255 Alpine Street, on Monday and Thursday at 11 a.m., to hear to stories about bedtime. Cookies will be served following the program. Registration is not required. Drop-in story times are geared for ages 6 and under, but everyone is welcome.

4. Save the date

This year's festival will take place July 20-21 on the festival grounds, located at the corner of Mast and North Territorial Roads in Dexter. The family friendly event includes music, kids games and inflatables, food, a classic car show and a 5K run/walk on Saturday evening.
