Former coach, teacher and assistant principal for Dexter High School Elvin "Al" Ritt had the school's football field named after him when he retired in 1989.
Former Dexter High School assistant principal and teacher Elvin "Al" Ritt died at the age of 77 Friday evening. Ritt, a long-time Dexter resident, battled leukemia for two years. The football field at Dexter High School was named after him when he retired in 1989. He taught math classes and coached football, baseball and started the school's wrestling program, said his daughter Tracy Marrin, 52, of Dexter, who lives next door to his home. Everyone knew him, she said, and she would often hear stories about what he did for others. "I've had students tell me about things that happened in class," she said. Raymond Chlebek died on Feb. 25, 2013.
Raymond Paul Chlebek, 67, of Dexter, died on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013 at his home in Dexter. Ray was born on May 29, 1945, in Uniontown, PA. to Anna and Stanley W. Chlebek. He was a beloved husband to Cathy, loving father and father-in-law to Jennifer and Robert (Bob) Flisher, and proud, dedicated grandfather of Chasen and Alexander (Xan) Flisher. He was the brother of Stanley, Edward, Thomas, Vincent, and Theresa. He is preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Henry. Ray was an industrial arts teacher at Monroe Public Schools for 33 years until he retired in 2002. He was passionate about sports, coaching football, community activism, and most importantly, family. He was a member of the Dexter Lions Club. A memorial service was held …
