Cyclist Struck By Driver on Dexter-Ann Arbor Road in Dexter

The alleged collision took place at the crosswalk near Monument Park on Thursday afternoon.

First responders were dispatched to Dexter-Ann Arbor Road near Monument Park in response to a vehicle accident involving a bicyclist on Thursday afternoon. According to Capt. Don Dettling of the Dexter Area Fire Department, at approximately 4:05 p.m., an SUV turning westbound onto Main Street from Baker Road allegedly collided with a female bicyclist and her child. "Both the woman and her child were wearing helmets and both were alert and conscious when we talked to them," Dettling said. Dettling said minor injuries were reported. The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office, and Huron Valley Ambulance also responded to the scene. "It's unknown if anyone was transported to the hospital," Dettling said.
