Dr. Rudolph Reichert of Ann Arbor has donated 92 acres of his family's property to the Legacy Land Conservancy. According to Ann Arbor.com, the Reichert Nature Preserve is open to the public and encompasses two small ponds, wetlands and a portion of the Portage Creek. 2. The Dexter Township Board of Trustees will negotiate a selling fee for three potential land parcels for a proposed permanent fire station. According to Patch.com, the current owners of 11485 North Territorial Road are willing to sell the township land for the station. 3. A group that wants to ban horizontal hydraulic fracturing for gas and oil wells in Michigan is trying to revive an effort that potentially could result in a proposal on the November 2014 statewide ballot, according to MLive.com. Big News Around You: Michigan Supreme Court Rules Against Medical Marijuana Dispensaries

The Michigan Supreme Court ruled that it is illegal to sell medical marijuana through private shops on Friday. According to Ann Arbor.com, in a 4-1 decision, the court affirmed an Appeals Court finding that Michigan's 2008 medical marijuana law does not allow people to sell marijuana to each other. 2. Twelve lambs died in a barn fire on Hadley Road near Loveland in Waterloo Township on Thursday. The cause of the fire is under investigation, Chelsea Patch reports. 3.
