Plans to bring a fine dining New York-style pizzeria to Dexter are moving forward despite some minor setbacks in 2012. Bits & Pizzas owners Robert and Mindy D’Oria said build out of the restaurant, located at 8099 Main St., began on Monday, with plans to open for business by the summer. "It took us a lot longer to get to this point than we originally expected, but we've put together a very skilled and experienced contractor team that is helping us execute our vision for Bits & Pizzas," Rob D'Oria posted on the restaurant's Facebook page. In a community with no shortage of pizza restaurants, a new player is entering the game in January 2013. Robert and Mindy D’Oria of Dexter are currently in the process of renovating the old art gallery at 8099 Main St. into their dream pizza tavern and restaurant. "We're certainly excited to be opening right in downtown Dexter," Robert D'Oria said. "It’s a great location and we like the building and the fact that it has an upstairs."
