Phase Two of County Border-to-Border Trail Underway Connecting Hudson Mills to Dexter

A 3-mile trail connector from Hudson Mills Metropark will begin construction in February.

Plans to construct a 3-mile non-motorized trail from Hudson Mills Metropark to the village of Dexter will begin in February. The project is part of a sprawling multi-county effort to develop a 35-mile non-motorized trail connecting Livingston, Wayne, and Washtenaw counties along the Huron River. The Hudson Mills segment of the trail will be constructed on Huron-Clinton Metroparks property and is being overseen by the metroparks directly. Upon completion, the project will connect to the West Side Connector boardwalk that was recently completed in 2012 and will allow pedestrians and bicyclists to safely travel from the village of Dexter to Hudson Mills Metropark and vice versa. Washtenaw County Border-to-Border Trail Connector in Dexter Officially Opens

The trail connects Dexter's Westridge Subdivision to the rest of the village.

A new trail connecting residents in Dexter's Westridge Subdivision to the rest of the village officially opened to the public this week. The connector is part of Washtenaw County's Border-to-Border trail, a 35-mile non-motorized path that passes through the communities of Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor and Dexter. The village's portion of the trail runs from the Westridge subdivision on the northwestern edge of Dexter through Warrior Creek Park under the railroad bridge for a total length of 800 feet. Allison Bishop, community development director, said the trail will positively impact Dexter's economic development, as the Westridge connector now links 250 homes with direct access to downtown.
