CHELSEA — Shock quickly turned to smiles and celebratory high fives at the Purple Rose Theatre in Chelsea on Wednesday morning, as members of the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce presented the theater with the 2012 Business of the Year award. Light winds and temperatures hovering in the mid-60s weren't enough to deter dozens of golfers for the second annual Dexter and Chelsea joint golf outing at Reddeman Farms on Tuesday. The fundraiser brought 25 teams to the greens teeing off to benefit the Dexter Area Chamber of Commerce and the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce. "The golf outing is the single largest fundraiser for both chambers," Abby Goldberg, executive director of the Dexter Chamber, said. "By combining our events together, there's a better opportunity for members to network and it provides broader exposure for businesses in both communities that sponsor the holes."
