Catalytic Converter Stolen from Vehicle in Chelsea

Chelsea Police are investigating reports of a theft of a catalytic converter from a vehicle parked near the Washtenaw Area Value Express Park and Ride near the intersection of M-52 and I-94 in Chelsea. According to police records, the theft occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 6. The vehicle owner stated that he parked his vehicle around 8:30 a.m. and went to work, when he returned at around 12:30 p.m. he started up his vehicle and noticed that it was significantly louder than usual. Upon further inspection officers determined that the catalytic converter had been cut out from underneath of the vehicle.
