Eastern Michigan University Grants Undergraduate Research Stimulus Award to Dexter Grad

Dexter High School alumna Sarah Burke will receive funding to develop her research in chemistry.

YPSILANTI, Mich. — Topics including the study of solar flares and dust storms on Mars, DNA breakpoints in the Human Fragile Site FRAXB and problematic foods in post-bariatric patients will be explored with the help of $19,000 in Undergraduate Research Stimulus Awards approved by the Board of Regents during its regular meeting Feb. 19 . Eastern will award eight $2,000 fellowships to a group of undergraduates in support of their research efforts with their faculty mentors, and each project can receive $500 to be used for lab/studio supplies or equipment, or other professional expenses. Dexter Alumni News: Rachel Lamine, Brittany Brown Named to Dean's List

Two Dexter High School graduates receive recognition at Grove City College and Eastern Michigan University.

Rachel Lamine Rachel Lamine, a sophomore English major at Grove City College, has been named to the dean's list for the fall 2011 semester. Lamine is a 2010 graduate of Dexter High School and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Lamine. Students eligible for the dean's list have a GPA of 3.40 to 3.59. Brittany Brown Brittany Brown, an accounting student at Eastern Michigan University, has been named to the dean's list. Brown is a 2010 graduate of Dexter High School. She is the daughter of Melissa and Noel Brown of Dexter.

10 Dexter Student-Athletes Commit to Universities During National Signing Day

Dexter seniors will play for collegiate teams in the Midwest beginning fall 2012.

Excitement filled the air at Dexter High School on Wednesday as 10 student athletes participated in National Signing Day activities. National Signing Day is the day that high schools seniors across the country officially plight their troth to a college sports program. Dreadnaughts Edward Reny (Wayne State University), Tucker Whitley (Siena Heights University), Charlie Sleder (Hope College) and Mike Mioduszewski (Eastern Michigan University) were recruited for the collegiate football program. Claire Tewksbury (University of Michigan) and Micaela Conter (Central Michigan University) were recruited for collegiate track teams.
