Dexter Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee Plans Second 'Yellow Door' Art Fundraiser

Committee members will serve breakfast at Dexter residents Paul and Pat Cousins' home to raise money for public art on Friday.

Before heading out to the 40th annual Dexter Daze Festival this weekend, visitors can fill up on a homemade breakfast, courtesy of resident Paul Cousins, while supporting a worthwhile initiative. Members of the village's Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee will host the second "Yellow Door" fundraiser from 8-11 a.m. Friday at Cousins' home, located at 7648 Forest St. The community breakfast includes a choice of three entrees, including creamed leeks and a poached egg over toast points with smoked trout, blueberry mascarpone stuffed pancakes, and a roasted potato and vegetable frittata. A minimum donation of $10 is requested. Dexter Residents Plan 'Yellow Door' Breakfast Fundraiser to Benefit Public Art

Paul Cousins and his wife Pat will open their home to visitors on June 2 to help raise money for the Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee.

In an effort to raise money for public art in the Village of Dexter, Paul and Pat Cousins are asking residents to open up their palates (and wallets) for a unique fundraising endeavor. The Cousins will host a community breakfast at their residence, 7648 Forest St., from 8-11 a.m. June 2 to help raise money to fund public art in the village. Paul Cousins, a member of the Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee, which oversees the selection and recommendation of public art to the village council, said he came up with the idea after attending a similar event in Chelsea.
