Dexter Ice Rink Opens for Second Season
Cold weather allows rink to open earlier than village officials expected.
Dust off your ice skates and get ready to channel your inner Michelle Kwan or Brian Boitano: The free Dexter Ice Rink is open for the season. Thanks to a string of days with subzero temperatures, the village was able to open the rink less than two weeks after the installation — and before the Christmas holiday. Last year, it took more than three weeks after filling for the ice to harden and the rink to open. "We're excited about everything that the rink brings to the village," said Village Manager Donna Dettling.
