The Sounds & Sights Festival Art Market returns this July.
The 37th Annual Sounds & Sights Festival held in downtown Chelsea is seeking regional artists and crafts people of outstanding quality for its juried Art Market, according to a press release. Sounds & Sights Festival Art Market is an indie arts and crafts fair coinciding with a variety of festivities and attractions associated with the Chelsea Sounds & Sights Festival, which begins the evening of Thursday, July 25 with Art Market running Friday and Saturday, July 26 and 27, noon to 8 p.m. The two-day, three-night festival draws more than 15,000 visitors annually and features national and regional live music acts, local food and brew, a sculpture walk and activities for the entire family. “This year more than ever, we are seeking unique…

Bands can audition live for the annual summer concert series beginning March 18 at First United Methodist Church.
Open auditions for downtown Chelsea’s “Sounds and Sights on Thursday Nights” 2013 summer concert series will take place on March 18. Festival organizers are looking for musicians, singer/songwriters, jugglers, magicians, dance troupes, artists, and other street arts performers. The auditions will be held March 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. According to the online application, there are approximately 100 paying spots available for this year's concert series. Performers can fill out the online application and reserve a time slot. Those auditioning will then have 3-5 minutes to perform at one of four stages before a panel of judges made up of local musicians, committee members, and merchants. Performers should bring …

The 37th annual music festival featured dozen of local artists and vendors who set up shop in downtown Chelsea for the three-day event.
Visitors throughout Michigan descended on downtown Chelsea this weekend for the 37th annual Sights & Sounds Festival. The festival weekend featured many of the popular attractions from previous years, including a Kidzone, classic car show, pet parade and live entertainment. Downtown Chelsea will come alive this weekend, July 26-28, when the Sounds & Sights Festival returns for three days of music, exhibits from local and national artists, parades and entertainment. Now in its 37th year, Chelsea’s long-running festival just announced it’s action-packed schedule for 2012 including a star-studded entertainment lineup.
