Dexter High School's inaugural "Stuff the Bus" fundraiser benefiting Faith in Action, a local food pantry serving Chelsea and Dexter, brought more than 1,700 pounds of food and $500 for the non-profit. The event was organized by the DHS Leos Club and Student Council.
Members of the DHS Student Council and Leos Club are collecting nonperishable food items through Nov. 18.
Two Dexter High School groups kicked off the school's inaugural "Stuff the Bus" food drive to benefit Faith in Action this week. Members of the Dexter High School Student Council and Leos Club are teaming up to help feed hungry families in western Washtenaw County by asking residents to contribute nonperishable food items by Nov. 18. The clubs hope to fill a trailer parked outside of Busch's Fresh Food Market on Dexter-Ann Arbor Road throughout the week. "As of Sunday, we've collected 200 cans plus monetary donations," Al Snyder, student council adviser said.
