Rep. Walberg Nominates Dexter/Chelsea Students to U.S. Military Service Academies

The students will be considered for the 2017 class at West Point, U.S. Air Force Academy, and U.S. Naval Academy.

U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg, R-District 7, nominated 20 students from Michigan for appointment to U.S. service academies. The nominees will now be considered for the 2017 class at West Point, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and the U.S. Naval Academy. “It’s a privilege to nominate such bright and driven students to our country’s top military academies. There they will be challenged mentally and physically, but I am confident in their ability to continue making us proud and one day join our nation’s finest servicemen and women. I wish them the best in all their endeavors,” Walberg said. Among the nominees were Dexter High School senior Nathaniel Mellifont for West Point, and DHS senior Paul Ruble for the U.S. Naval Academy. …

Former Police Officer Dan Davis Challenges U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg in Tuesday's Primary Election

The U.S. Congressman says he's done everything he promised since ousting Democrat Mark Schauer in 2010.

U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg, R-District 7, could all but clench the Republican nomination in Tuesday's primary. Dan Davis of Riga in Lenawee County is on the Republican ballot along with Walberg, however he has done only minor campaigning leading up to the election. Repeated attempts to contact Walberg and Davis for this story were unsuccessful. In an interview with MLive, Walberg said he's done everything he promised constiuents since taking office in 2010. Those promises include repealing President Obama's overhaul of the health care system, reducing the deficit, and implementing measures to increase job growth. Walberg said if he is elected to a second term, he will continue his fight to repeal the Affordable Health Care for America Act. "I …
