Here's a look at some fun family-friendly activities going on in Washtenaw County this weekend.

From live music to fishing and festivals, there is plenty going on around Washtenaw County this weekend to entertain the kids. The Saline Community Fair continues this weekend. La'Ron Williams is a nationally acclaimed, award-winning storyteller who has toured extensively presenting programs and workshops. This music-spiced, highly participatory performance presents a dynamic blend of original and traditional tales crafted to encourage community, foster cooperation and promote peaceful conflict resolution. Weekend Planner: Stay Cool at Dexter Area Indoor Attractions

Here's a look at some fun family-friendly activities in the area to beat the heat this weekend.

With temperatures continuing into the high 90s this weekend, Dexter Patch has compiled a list of family-friendly activities to cool off going on around the area this weekend. Drop-in laser tag players are always welcome at Lazer Planet in Dexter. You can play laser tag with as little as two or as many as 14 people per game. The arcade is open from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. The Ann Arbor District Library hosts the 2012 Kids Read Comics Celebration on Saturday and Sunday, bringing more than 70 cartoonists and writers to the Downtown Library, 343 S. The warm weather is a great excuse to head outdoors and enjoy a weekend with the kids. Dexter Patch has put together a list of some of the activities happening in the area June 9-10. The first weekend in May looks to be a busy one in Dexter. Here's a look ahead at some of the events happening around town for those staying in the area. 1. Dexter Farmers Market opens Enjoy the warm weather this weekend at the opening of the Dexter Farmers Market. The market will celebrate its seventh season on Alpine Street next to the Dexter District Library. The market will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays, and 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays.  2. 'Wrapped in Love' Quilt Show The Dexter Piece-Makers group will host the ninth annual quilt show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Andrew's United Church of Christ on Saturday.
