Thieves Target Cars in Dexter, Scio Twp.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office is investigating several vehicle larcenies around the Dexter area.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office is urging residents in the village of Dexter and surrounding townships to lock their vehicle doors and not leave valuable items in plain view. According to Sgt. Keith Flores, deputies have been investigating several vehicle thefts in Dexter Village and Dexter Township since January. On Jan. 27, deputies were dispatched to the 9000 block of Huron Street in Dexter Township for a vehicle larceny complaint. According to police reports, sometime between 2 p.m. on Jan. 26 and 8 a.m. on Jan. 27, an unknown suspect or suspects broke out the window of the victim's van and stole a GPS unit. On Jan. 28 at approximately 5:30 p.m., an unknown suspect or suspects entered two vehicles in the 8000 block of Main Street…

Homeowner Scares Off Car Vandal in Dexter

The following information was supplied by the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

On Dec. 19, at approximately midnight, an unknown individual threw a rock through the passenger's side window of a vehicle parked in the 8000 block of Oak Ridge Court in Webster Township, according to a police report. According to police, no items were removed from the vehicle. Sgt. Keith Flores said deputies believe that the suspect was spooked, due to lights going on in the house in front of which the car was parked, and fled the scene prior to stealing anything from the vehicle. Larceny Deputies with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office are investigating a report of a vehicle larceny that took place on Dec. 17 between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. According to police records, an unknown individual broke the passenger side window of a vehicle …
