Thieves Target Cars in Dexter, Scio Twp.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office is investigating several vehicle larcenies around the Dexter area.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office is urging residents in the village of Dexter and surrounding townships to lock their vehicle doors and not leave valuable items in plain view. According to Sgt. Keith Flores, deputies have been investigating several vehicle thefts in Dexter Village and Dexter Township since January. On Jan. 27, deputies were dispatched to the 9000 block of Huron Street in Dexter Township for a vehicle larceny complaint. According to police reports, sometime between 2 p.m. on Jan. 26 and 8 a.m. on Jan. 27, an unknown suspect or suspects broke out the window of the victim's van and stole a GPS unit.
