The annual fundraiser benefits local teachers and school programs.
Hundreds of Dexter residents turned out Friday at Cornerstone Elementary School for its annual silent auction fundraiser. The cafeteria at Cornerstone was full of exciting and interesting baskets stuffed with vacation packages, gifts and goodies. One of the most popular was the Walt Disney Co.'s Tangled basket, which contained a vast array of memorabilia from the movie, including dolls, dresses and an "all-clad" frying pan. Baskets featuring Florida, Traverse City and Chicago getaways drew small crowds of last-minute bidders. Proceeds from the event will help fund teacher grants for next year.
